Medium	Lactate-utilizing Desulfobacter Medium
Composition
Sodium lactate 2.5 g   Bacto Yeast Extract (Difco) 1 g   Na2SO4 3 g   MgCl2·6H2O 3.1 g   KH2PO4 0.2 g   CaCl2·2H2O 0.15 g   NH4Cl 0.3 g   NaCl 21 g   KCl 0.5 g   Trace metal solution* 1 ml   Vitamin solution** 10 ml   Resazurin 1 mg   Na2CO3 2.5 g   Na2S·9H2O 0.4 g   Distilled water 1 L     Mix ingredients except for vitamin solution, Na2CO3 and Na2S·9H2O. Dispense the medium into suitable culture vessels under a stream of N2/CO2 (80/20), seal with butyl rubber stoppers, and autoclave at 121°C for 20 min. Separately autoclave Na2S·9H2O (5% solution) under a N2 atmosphere. Sterilize vitamin and 10% Na2CO3 solutions by filtration. Prior to inoculation, aseptically and anaerobically add vitamin, Na2CO3 and Na2S·9H2O solutions.                   *Trace metal solution       ZnSO4·7H2O 0.44 g       CuSO4·5H2O 0.2 g       MnSO4·2H2O 0.17 g       Na2MoO4·2H2O 0.06 g       H3BO3 0.1 g       CoCl2·6H2O 0.08 g       Na2SeO4 0.004 g       Na2WO4 0.004 g       Distilled water 1 L                   **Vitamin solution       Biotin 2 mg       Folic acid 2 mg       Pyridoxine-HCl 10 mg       Thiamine-HCl 5 mg       Riboflavin 5 mg       Nicotinic acid 5 mg       Ca-pantothenate 5 mg       p-Aminobenzoic acid 1 mg       Vitamin B12 0.01 mg       Distilled water 1 L
