Quality of genomic DNAs

The microbial genomic DNA supplied by NBRC is checked by the following quality verification procedure.

i) Quantity
The quantity (over 1µg) is checked by spectrophotometry.

ii) Suitability for enzyme reaction
The suitability for enzyme reaction is checked by the PCR.

iii) Sequencing of the 16S rDNA
The full-region of 16S rDNA is sequenced.

iv) DNA Length
The average length (over 20kbp) is checked by pulse field gel electrophoresis (PFGE).

Ordering Genomic DNAs

1. Distribution Policy
Distribution of the genomic DNA to domestic and foreign institutions for research purposes will be subject to the regulations of Japanese Ministries. We shall ship our microbial genomic DNA to all countries except for those restricted by Japanese government.

2. Ordering Form [download PDF 179KB]
After downloading the Ordering Form, please read the attached "Agreement of Biological Resource Transfer and Treatment". If you don't agree with any of the items, we will be unable to accept your order.
Please note both the name(s) of DNA resource(s) and its (their) NBRC number(s) + G in your order, and sign or place a seal in the signature column. (See also the example of description PDF 37KB)

3. Inquiry to NBRC
Please fill the order form and send it to the following address by mail or facsimile. Orders by telephone or e-mail are currently not accepted. If your government agency requires a document for importing our genomic DNA resource(s), please send us a necessary form or forms together with the Ordering form. In response to your fax, we will send a proforma invoice by e-mail and start to process your order.
